Email Notification
Hi Guys,
I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I am new to cacti and have installed with the latest EZCD (0.7).
We currently monitor 74 wireless units. We would like to receive an email if any of the units go offline.
I have tried and tried to figure out how to set this up but I must be missing something obvious. Are there any step by step instructions available for this task? Or can someone handhold me through this process so I learn how to do it and perhaps leave a post chain for other people in the same position to read.
All the units are being graphed and the monitor plugin screams out on a big screen in the office when a unit appears offline. It then shows recovering and normal when the connection is restored.
This leads me to believe that everything is setup OK, I just need to configure the email notifications to be sent. In the settings>Mail / DNS tab I am able to "Send a Test Email" successfully which leads me to assume that the outbound email settings are all also configured correctly.
I hope I have covered all the obvious areas, if not please let me know what other information you require and I'll be glad to provide it.
Thanks guys.

Re: Email Notification
Anyone, any input is appreciated
Currently Threshold limits are defined and email addresses are set in notification lists. The lists are assigned to the thresholds.
When i send a test email from the mail/dns tab it works.
When a threshold is breached, we still receive no email
Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Email Notification
I had a similar issue with High/Low threshold alerts, if you're using H/L ensure your threshold breach duration isn't set to "never". I have mine set to 1 minute and expect notifications as soon as possible.
I have a threshold set up to monitor a sites availability, re-alert cycle set to 5 minutes, and breach duration set to 1 minute, yet I still receive notification the site is down within 45 seconds of taking the site offline, once within 11 seconds of taking it down. So the setting doesn't make allot of sense to me, but it works the way I need it to.
