Bugs on cacti ? (interface name)

Post by mikygee »

Hello again,

I would like that one of the developper validate if I should open a bug for this (but I think I should=) )

I have 3750 Cisco switches stacked.
The interface name is wrong, as you can see in the image is GigabitEthernet10619 instead of Gi2/0/19.
To retieve the good interface name I looked at the graph source properties and looked at which rrd file the graph was associated, then search for the rrd name (rra_cactidb/25/683.rrd) in the datasources (same rrd <path_rra>/25/683.rrd when I edit the datasource.

The problem appears from Gi2/0/19 (Gi2/0/18 is fine) to Gi2/0/32 (Gi2/0/33 is fine).

Reloading the data query (green ring) didn't help.

On another stacked Cisco 3750 I have exactly the same behavior.
The problem appears on Gi2/0/21-22 and Gi2/0/25-26 and Gi2/0/29-32.

Rebuilding the poller cache didn't help.

My Cacti version is 0.8.8a

Please select the "failing" data sources/graphs and "reapply suggested names" for them.

Hello Gandalf,
I did this but it didn't solve the problem. It remains the same.

Hello Gandalf,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "graph definition" but here are two screenshots.
Thank you

Well, that graph shows the template for the title. And this template uses "|query_ifDescr| and |query_ifIndex|" and that's exactly what is shown. This is governed by the "Suggested Names" section of the given Data Query "Interface Traffic". You may want to change the sequence of that section. Then, reapply_suggested_names should be applied

Hello Gandalf,
The strange thing is that I've created all the interfaces at the same time just after I added the device in Cacti. But the behavior is different.
I have changed from "|query_ifDescr|/|query_ifIndex|" to "|query_ifName| - (|query_ifAlias|)" in graph management and reapplied the suggested names.
So now, I suppose this problem is considered as solved.
Thank you
