Hi All
Please need you help in resolving this problem. Running cacti 0.8.7g and it works fine, only can't get genereric SNMP OID to provide data on graph
i can pool the OID data from the same machine on which cacti is installed:
C:\>snmpget -v2c -t 2 -c public 10.155.85.8 1.3.6.1.4.1.6247.24.1.3.2.5.0
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.6247.24.1.3.2.5.0 = INTEGER: 81
C:\>snmpwalk -v2c -t 2 -c public 10.155.85.8 1.3.6.1.4.1.6247.24.1.3.2.5.0
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.6247.24.1.3.2.5.0 = INTEGER: 80
But when polled from cacti itself the result is Partial Result: U

I have gone trough the similar posts on a forum and tried number of suggestions but nothing seems to solve this problem, which means there is something i'm missing so need your help !!!

Re: Generic SNMP OID Template - Partial Result: U
Hmm, well that all looks correct. Possibly try switching between snmp v1 and v2 or increasing the snmp timeout.

Re: Generic SNMP OID Template - Partial Result: U
Did all that, but still no result, have tried the following:
1. Change SNMP versions from 1 to 2
2. Increased timeouts from 2000, 3000, 5000
3. Changed Re-Index Methods to Verify all Field
4. Imported new SNMP OID Template from cacti website in case there was something wrong with the one i had
5. Patch all the files for this version which was available on cacti website
Operating system I'm running cacti is Windows 2003 Server and the device I'm trying to poll the data is Satellite Modem on a remote site with a minimum delay of 1100ms
Even More i have installed the MRTG and PRTG on separate machine to test this OID and they managed to produce the graph, might this be a problem with this Version of Cacti ? but on the other hand I'm running this version for a while now and it's really stable never had any problems with it.

Re: Generic SNMP OID Template - Partial Result: U
Did you clear the poller cache after changing the snmp timeout? Could also look in there to validate cacti is using the new 5000ms value. Offhand, I'd guess with a avg latency of 1100ms, it's just the query timing out in Cacti. If you really wanted to find out, could packet capture with Wireshark...
