[SOLVED] Cacti main install location

Post by gradientpixel »

I am running a completely fresh install of LAMP server and Cacti on Ubuntu 12.01. I have previously had a difficult time installing the Cacti Plugin Manager so I am trying to figure out exactly where the main install is located. I am, as of right now, guessing the location is /usr/share/cacti. Is this correct?

Also I am trying to follow a tutorial for the PIA install but it just says to drop the /cacti-plugin-arch/files into the main install location. Would that just be simply copying the /cacti-plugin-arch/files directory in the /usr/share/cacti directory (assuming this is the main install location) or do I need to place them in the appropriate locations within the /cli and /site directories?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You seem to be using a debian-style layout. This differs from the original cacti one. Please see posts of paulgevers, then

Just for reference for other users, the Ubuntu 12.0.4 main install location is /usr/share/cacti/.

The config.php file is at /usr/share/cacti/site/include.

Another useful tip I found out is that if the cacti site does not come up, there is an additional file that is required from the config.php file (can be seen in the file near the top) which is the debian.php file. This is located at /etc/cacti. Make sure the settings are correct in there as well.
