Can i add the VoIP number of current calls on Cisco AS5300 ?

Post by Ip-Watch »

Hello all,

I have a Cisco AS5300 .. and its runing as a VoIP GW

to give you the exact requirment, when i login to the AS5300 i issue this command to know the current running number of calls :

# sh voip rtp connections

it lists all the connections for the VoIP calls ... and at the last line it will says something like : Found 23 active calls ..

I just need this "23" number to be pulled somehow from the AS5300 and then graph it by Cacti ..

is this possible ?

i really hope so...

thanks a alot.

you can use an expect script to telnet into the device and grab the info.
I use a perl script called mrat.pl to do this with my cisco devices. very useful indeed. I primarily use it via cron to dump the configs to a tftp server

see http://www.garnel.com/mrtg/pix-vpn.html for an example & scripts.
It has been a long time since I updated the site or the scripts, so the info may be a bit dated, but still applicable.

Also, I am not a coder so my scripts are functional enough to do the task I require of them and they could probably be written better. I provide them as
an example of HOW to do something.

I'm actually looking for an oid to capture the output of the same cisco command. Anyone know it off hand. Thanks.

Hi:
If you are searching for an active calls OID:

.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.1.4.0

if not try searching in MIB Cisco Locator (on Cisco web page).
