Cacti not collecting data anymore

Hello. First let me start off by saying that I'm mostly a Windows admin and know very little of Linux so if I say something stupid please forgive me.

I've been charged with finding out why Cacti is no longer collecting data and I'm a little stumped as to where to start.

Historical data does come up but only until eary September of this year. After that it just stopped collecting. Since historical data does come up then that leads me to believe that it is talking to MySQL just fine and that MySQL is in fact running. Am I correct in those assumptions?

Nothing is being logged in Cacti log so I can see anything that would help me troubleshoot.

Any ideas? I appreciate any help.

oh and I checked to see if disk space was ok using the df -m command and it says that the main drive is only 54% full.

Maybe SNMP isn't working?

Is there a command that I can execute to check against just one device?

Hi Guy,

Try this out

snmpwalk -c Your ComunityString -v 2c IPADDRESS | grep System

This should return your system info at least. If it dosent then snmp is either stopped working or someone has changed your CommunityString

I get the following back, but Im sure yours will be different

Im in the same situation, Cacti stops drawing suddenly. snmpwalk output:

it takes a long time to show this. is this significant?

I´ve rebuild the poller cache too

Cacti Version? Is it happening to all graphs? How far back exactly (days) does it begin to disappear?

Also, historical data is not stored in MySQL, just the configuration information. Historical data is stored in the RRD files. Some historical data issues are caused by the RRA settings. Can you please post your RRA Settings, and then pick a graph that it is happening to, you post which RRA's the data template for that graph is using.
