Installer updated with latest core components. Also the MySQL strictmode issue should be fixed (compensation for the MySQL Server Instance Configuration Wizard not behaving correctly).

Nice install. I too banged my head getting the graphs to work until I found that I needed to change the timezone in the c:\php\php.ini. Here is a list of the timezones: http://www.php.net/manual/en/timezones.america.php

Hope that helps others.

Putting this info int he post-install would be nice :)

I have installed the exe you provided. Everything installed fine all the services look to be running. However, when I go to “localhost\cacti” it get an error screen telling basically that the wrong data base is running and gives a command to change the data base in mysql. I ran the command and it confirms that the database has been updated but I still get the same error. I also round an index file but when I load it tells me that Catcti is running and gives me 3 thinks to set things up, however they bring me to blank pages. I did also find a place to test apache which I run, I can’t remember the exact message but it is saying something about the domain name not resolving to an IP address and the IP address is the local IP of my computer. Any thoughts?

Screenshots and/or exact message you got would be really helpful.

Per the post-installation guide troubleshooting section, have you reviewed the various logs for pointers on what's going on?

This is the error i am getting:
-----------------------------------
Error

You have created a new database, but have not yet imported the 'cacti.sql' file. At the command line, execute the following to continue:

mysql -u cactiuser -p cacti < cacti.sql

This error may also be generated if the cacti database user does not have correct permissions on the cacti database. Please ensure that the cacti database user has the ability to SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, UPDATE, CREATE, ALTER, DROP, INDEX on the cacti database.
-----------------------------------

I did read the post installation Instructions and set up the correct time as instructed but as far as the trouble shooting portion i couldn't find anything related. i did find this in the logs that it could not find this file "C:/Apache2/htdocs/favicon.ico", and i did verify that it didn't exist when i went int htdocs, but I'm not sure where i could find a copy of this file so that i could place it here.

Please attach your cacti-install.log for review. Sounding like the database wasn't imported. Did you previously have mysql, php, or apache installed on this server?

jameel:
Same questions apply to you, which I've asked the other posters for troubleshooting.

lenzd1:
The SSL version of apache is installed (i.e. httpd-2.2.22-win32-x86-openssl-0.9.8t.msi). it's up to you to get it properly configured.

This was displayed on the last screen of the installer (which you obviously did not read) and the post-install instructions (which you didn't follow).

I used the attached instructions to accomplish this. We used a company issued cert compared to instructions. We also implemented an automatic redirect from http to https.
The redirect instructions can be found here: https://www.sslshopper.com/apache-redir ... https.html

I get the same symptoms as Jameel. The error logs only showed that the scheduled task failed and I corrected the permissions (added the password of the user) for that task. I have turned off the Windows Firewall and checked the logs, but nothing seems to show anything wrong (Apache looks to be serving the page as there is no 404 or other error message.

This is on WinXP sp3

----------

Edit: a reboot of the box fixed the issue.
