I want my graph's original granularity to be 15 minutes

Hello, i have a question, pls.
The host to monitor refreshes its data every 15 minutes, but my cron interval must be settled 1 or 5 minutes because only 1 or 5 minutes can be selected on cacti. What should I do to make my graph's original granularity to be 15 minutes? How can I set my cron interval with value 15 minutes?

It is not possible to have a 15 min polling. Usual workaround is to have same data displayed 3 times in a row

I went to "Date Templates" and choose mine, assigning "900" to the "step" field and "1800" to the "heartbeat" field( cron's interval is still 5 minutes), my graph has been fortunately displayed with the original granularity of 15 . It works ! Have I done it right?

Well, after reading your post a few times over and over, I actually think you've succeeded.

I could be wrong, but if you actually WANT a 15 minute difference between updates, then nothing better than just skipping two poller intervals.

Well... My situation is a little complicated. My data request is via php script to visit database. If the request is too early, the DB record associated with the specific time point may have not been inserted, thus the result may be U. So I preferred to change the "Step" field.
