[Solved] troubleshooting a graph?

i'm using 0.8.7i on Ubuntu 10.04.1 and having trouble getting a unix ping latency graph to work. I've tried deleteing the device a couple times but I keep getting a broken graphic for the graph.

What can I look at to try and figure out what's broke? I've changed logging to high and can't see anything obviously wrong, i've tried waiting over night even to see if the graphic would update eventually as i had some trouble with a hand full of other devices which deleting and recreating corrected their graphing.

well, it's telling me it can't find the RRA. i had owner on /var/www/cacti/rra as cactiuser.users and changed it to cactiuser.cacti with no luck in it creating the file.

I'm baffled in that it was able to create other RRA's in this folder.

if I can figure out how to generate an RRA from command line and place it in the /rra folder might it just pickup from there?

Please confirm that you are not at all using the Ubuntu package for cacti but that you fully installed cacti from the cacti website.

If you can not confirm this, you probably have a mixed setup running and you should carefully check all the different components. As a starter, please check the 3rd item in my signature in that case.

I installed from sources on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and followed the thread http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=43436 except did used cacti 0.8.7i I didn't install nagios or webmin.

The weirdest is that most of the time the graphs just work, and if they don't at first i just delete the device and all accompanying graphs etc and recreate it with success. This time i've tried several times and it just won't create the RRA for this one.
