Issue whith the plugin syslog

Post by ninouboy6 »

Hi !! i'am installing cacti 0.8.7.h . My graph works perfectly for my localhost . I've installed some plugins ( thold , weathermap , mactrack , monitor) but the syslog plugin doesn't work . the database syslog recovers the logs ( I checked ) ! the problem is when I click on the tab syslog the cacti website open the page Syslog advisor upgrade
the syslog advisor upgrade
the syslog advisor upgrade
cacti advisor upgrade.JPG (155.72 KiB) Viewed 1584 times
and when I click on upgrade or cancel I get a :
not found.JPG
not found.JPG (43.61 KiB) Viewed 1584 times
I see this on the cacti log :
cacti logs.JPG
cacti logs.JPG (156.55 KiB) Viewed 1584 times
I think I miss something on the configuration of syslog but if someone can help me .

Run those SQL Queries from the command line and respond with the missing information. My expectation is that your upgrade failed part way through (due to timeout) and therefore some of the tables did not get updated completely. You can mitigate this by reviewing the 'database_upgrade' script in setup.php which adds those columns. It's not easy, but I think you only have a few tables to address.

thanks for this answer !!! i'm not an expert in PHP but if I understand the script when you upgrade syslog the script delete your table and rebuild and new table whith new columms ! In my case the script delete anything and can't connect in my database !! if I miss something tell me please !!
I also see that the scripts call a file " plugins.php and it is that file that missing when you press "upgrade" or cancel in the syslog_advisor_upgrade . Do you know where is this file ?

PS: I'm a french student in intership so sory for my english !!

Not too sure without direct access to the box. I would suggest that you review the apache error log for clues.

Just Copy the /usr/share/cacti/site/plugin.php to ....../syslog/ (Debian lenny , Cacti Version 0.8.7g)
OR /var/www/cacti/......./plugin.php (Other OS:)
