APC Symmetra graphs

Post by infodood »

Here are some graph & data templates I put together for our APC Symmetra units. There are nine graphs in all & they have no warranties (expressed or implied), but they seem to suit our needs when used on 6KvA models. Have at 'em.

I exported the templates using 0.8.6i. I suppose there could also be a problem with the export ...it was the first time I had ever exported anything in that version. Unfortunately, I don't manage that cacti installation anymore. What versions are you running & what OS?

Some of these seem to work on our Symmetra 40K but not all graphs return valid data - I don't suppose anyone has or is willing to contribute an updated revision?

The following queries don't return data-

Battery Failures
Battery Remaining Runtime
Last Transfer Reason
Output KvA Draw

The "output kva draw" would be the one I'm most interested in. Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with creating data templates or querying SNMP mibs in order to get these to work..any help is appreciated.

I've taken the liberty to update these graphs, and created a host template for them.
If you have the problem with the LAST, then you need to go edit your RRAs to include LAST in them, or create a new set of RRAs for this template, up to you.
Otherwise, you can change the LAST to AVERAGE.

Thanks for this template, it works great except for a few issues.
1. Decimal places are missing and . So for example on the Output amps graph it reads 147 average, when it should read 14.7.
2. Missing other phases, so .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.9.3.3.1.4.1.1.1 is for L1 amps out, but its missing .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.9.3.3.1.4.1.1.2 for L2 amps out, which for us would output 21.4 amps, even though the value from SNMP shows 214. I know it has a decimal since that what shows up in the network management card web interface. Voltage and current have one decimal place and load (kVa) has two.

The OIDs are here:
https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/ ... /apc-mib.c

Any way this can be updated?

Thanks!

I have imported this template, but I dont have a networked APC to test with. What I think you'll need to do is create a CDEF and apply that to the graph. If you take a look at the vA to KvA that should give you the idea. If you need to add another item to a graph, you will need a data source for it. Again, take a look at the existing APC data sources that will be under Templates -> Data Sources.
