Bandwidth total for the day, possible?

Post by shelluk »

Hi All

Is it possible to show the bandwidth usage for the day on a map?

Thanks

Yes - there are a couple of different ways to do it, depending on where you get your data from.

With the DSStats plugin, it maintains hourly, daily, weekly and monthly stats.

With regular rrdtool files, you can change the time period and consolidation function to get a daily average. You should be careful though - rrdtool works by averaging over periods to create a fixed-size data file, so the further back you go, the more you lose peak information. E.g. Over one month, you probably are looking at daily averages, and over one day, probably 30 minute averages (depends on your RRA setup in Cacti).

http://www.network-weathermap.com/manua ... s.html#rrd

has the details for the rrdtool datasource plugin. Be aware that the SET commands there affect all datasources in the map - you can't have some 'current' and some 'daily'
that way.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
