Re: device state
I think he means the following:
If a device goes down, it takes a while before it is marked as such by Cacti
If a device is up again, it takes a while before it is marked as such by Cacti, displaying a "recoverring" in the mean-time
This behavior is defined by the "Host Up/Down Settings" on the "Poller" tab of the cacti settings. Right at the bottom.
"Failure Count
The number of polling intervals a host must be down before logging an error and reporting host as down."
and
"Recovery Count
The number of polling intervals a host must remain up before returning host to an up status and issuing a notice."

Re: device state
Yes. https://your-cacti-server/cacti/settings.php?tab=poller shows, that you will have to re-populate the poller cache. But more: each rrd file is directly tied to a "specific" polling interval! There's the "step" and the "heartbeat" value; and both of them CAN'T BE CHANGED! So you will have to delete all rrd files, loosing all historical data, when changing the poller interval!seighalani wrote:i have another question.

Re: device state
then what should i do for this bad delay? i decreased Failure Count and Recovery count but was slow yet and took 5minute .
in solarwinds( for example in performance monitor) it changes status of nodes quickly.

Re: device state
The status changes only when the poller runs (e.g. every 5 min). And there's a retry count, see "Settings", that avoids the status toggling up and down

Re: device state
What is it that you atcually want to accomplish ? What are your requirements ?
Maybe the function you're looking for can be added with an existing plugin.
