Dear everybody.
I'm running cacti's cmd.php from crontab as user wwwrun (the SuSE apache user). sometimes cacti stops gathering data. when i run cmd.php manually, it says:
www1:~ # su -c "/usr/bin/php /home/www/cacti/cmd.php" wwwrun
Content-type: text/html
PHP Fatal error: Unable to start session mm module in Unknown on line 0
strange... when I delete /tmp/session_mm.sem (which is owned by root:root mode 600), everything works fine again. unfortunately session_mm.sem re-appears several hours later (does php create it?)
does anybody know what i'm doing wrong? apache version is 1.3.23, php is version 4.1.0 (running as an apache module)
regards,
fov

I had the same problem, i solved this by setting all permissions correct of the cacti-directorys.
