libcrypto.so.2 with Net-snmp

Post by Benoit »

I guy, I'm a Newbi using Mandrake 8.2 and used MRTG for getting SNNMP datas.

I've Installed cacti today. All is Ok with Ping hosts and so on, but I need to install Net-snmp in order to re-create my MRTG conf under cacti.

My problem is the following. When I wand to install the Net-snmp package (RPM), I got a warning message : need libcrypto.so.2 Force or Exit.

What should I do ? Force the installation or try to use the libcrypto.so.2.

The problem is that lib is avalaible with an older version of openssl that the version I use and wonder if it is a good thing to replace the openssl Package with an older because there are lots of dependencies with this package.

Can y you help Me ?

Thank You.

You can try to create libcrypto.so.2 as a link to your real library file like this:
ln -s /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.6b /lib/libcrypto.so.2
You have to check your real library name before doing this. Then installation of net-snmp should go smoothly.
