How i can make a DIVISION on a SNMP OID result????

Post by d3d3c0 »

Hi all,
Is it possible to make a division on a SNMP OID Graphic result???
Im trying to get the temperature of a switch, but the OID of this variable only gives to me the value multiplied per 10 (x10). But i want to plot the value in the graph with the correct and reasoning that i want.

Thanks for any help,
Andre.

Well, not to repeat myself, but read the documentation, it covers CDEFs and RPN. If you have questions after that, I will help you out more. Only because I have to remember how to do it as well. :)

I got it. I made a duplicate of the standard template for SNMP OID Graphic, and a add the CDEF function that i created for division per 10 in the configuration of this newer template that i had created. Finallly, i changed the template of the temperature graph from SNMP OID template to my new created graph template. I only have to per attention at the syntax creation of a CEDF, so i took the CDEF of multiplly per 1024 as an example.

Thanks,
Andre.

This solution does not resolve wrong displayed data in legend graphs. Maybe is better solution for this purpose (eg based on data sources tepmplate modifications) ?

Please don't dredge up a 9 year old thread, as everyone involved gets emailed on the subject when its already dead and gone.

And BTW, you can apply CDEFs to data at the bottom too.
