Export the settings from Linux server to windows

Post by nahtawy »

Dears,

We used to have Cacti in our environement running on linux box , As our Linux expert has left, we need to deploy Cacti on a windows server instead. I've successfully managed to install Cacti on one server. Now we need to move the DB, and other settings from the linux box to our new Windows server,

anyone here can help.

database is a simple drop and reimport into the new server.
cacti files, get the windows release for the same release.
rrdtool rrd files are the pain. you're going to need to dump them on linux and then reimport on Windows. I believe the rrdtool community already has a script/tool for this.

what about weathermaps ?

No, but it'll make your life easier. Soon as cacti launches and detects it needs to upgrade itself, it'll sit there waiting for you. With the OS migration I can imagine you're going to run into various problems from the start.

I'm not a weathermap user. consult the documentation, forum, or author. I'd imagine it's all already stored in the cacti db you're backing up.
