Too many connections with mysql

Post by dthid321 »

Hi,

I have an intermittent problem with my cacti installation. Sometimes, when I use a lot cacti, at some point I get a mysql error which get resolved only when I restart the mysql service on the server.

I noticed that the mysql connections are going high really fast when I use cacti and all the sessions are in sleep mode.

I updated the max_connections field from 100 to 250, I think it'll help.

I'm wondering if I could lower the wait_timeout too, cause it's still to his default value (8 hours), and if yes, which value should I set?

Why cacti doesn't close the connections ??

My server is running windows server 2003, cacti version is the latest and I don't use spine.
