Latency between routers Serial Interfaces

Post by debaser »

Hi all,

could anyone tell me if it is possible to monitor the Latency between two router serial interfaces within my network?
At this moment I think it is being monitored from CACTI server to each router serial interface, but i would like to monitor for example from Router A serial interface to Router B serial interface.
Is it possible? If so how?
Thanks a lot,
Deb.

I think you may need to do some sort of probe in between them, maybe IPSLA enabled on these two routers.

Another thought may be using RPING or something similar.

I have several Routers in my network and every router has more than one serial interface. I have configured my router with loopback address hence, I can measure the latency of loopback / router with 'advance ping template'. However, I want to measure the latency of each serial interface. Can any one please assist me how I can measure / monitor latency of each serial interface of the router?

Thanks in advance,
Jit
