Hey all, I'm running Cacti itself on a physical server I built, and I have it connecting to a VPS I own just fine via SNMP. The problem, however, that I'm having is that the VPS has a virtual adapter, venet0:0 for the public IP, and Cacti isn't picking this up through SNMP. It can get the lo and venet0 itself just fine, and graphing just fine. However, both those are in the private class-A range.
Both are 32-bit Ubuntu 11.10 servers and using SNMP v1. I'm not sure what other information will be helpful for this really as its not so much a Cacti issue I'm thinking, but then again I don't know...first time I've ever used this.
If there's some missing pieces to this puzzle let me know.

Does an snmpwalk show the missing adapter?

I don't know how to interpret that information (haven't used snmpwalk until I was introduced to Cacti).gandalf wrote:Does an snmpwalk show the missing adapter?

Edit
It sees the main adapter (venet0), but not the virtual (venet0:0).# snmpwalk -v 1 -c public domain.com 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.1 = STRING: "lo"
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.3 = STRING: "venet0"

And that's why Cacti won't get no data. No snmpwalk - no data - no graph; sorry

But snmpwalk showed data, didn't it?gandalf wrote:And that's why Cacti won't get no data. No snmpwalk - no data - no graph; sorry

Is there any fix for this? Google is giving me nothing more than SolarWind and stuff like that which is irrelevant to this situation.

No; it didn't show venet0:0, only the "master" interface venet0 was shownehansen wrote:But snmpwalk showed data, didn't it?
