Datasources, CDEF's, and Graph Items

I'm trying to include datasources into my cacti graphs that are only meant to be used within a CDEF and not as a graph item. It seems that cacti will only include a DS if it's being graphed.

Can anyone fill me in on how to do this, if at all?

You are exactly right, and the first person to point this out I might add. While future versions of cacti should handle this correctly, you can "hack around" the problem for now. Just add an additional STACK/AREA item with the data source you need, making sure not to give it a text value or color.

See if that solves the problem.
