Running 2 Cacti in 1 Machine ?

Post by nonesense »

Hello everyone...
I have a question, could 2 cacti running in 1 machine ? because i've been trying to add 1 more cacti in my machine but using different database, cacti path, cacti session, and schedule, but result is the new cacti cant update the data.
I already check in error log : php and apache, and no logging regarding to the new cacti.

Thanks for your respond.

Hi !
We've been running 3 different cacti on the same box for a while, with no problem.
Are you sure your config and rra folders rights are good ?
Hope this helps.

Sure, you can have multiple instances. You need a separate MySQL database for each along with the cacti files. cacti/include/config.php dictates the settings you need to change.

Hi everyone, thanks for replying...
When schedule my 2nd cacti being execute, window "svchost.exe" showing unknown random character but dont execute php.exe. But my 1st cacti, execute cacti schedule smoothly...
In file config.php, i already make sure that configuration : database default, database username, database password, url path different from each other. And also in global.php, i already change for database default setting, including change for cacti session name. But still dont solve the problem...
Did i missed something ??

Thanks for your help... :)

What locale is your os and database?
Both of your scheduled task are launching poller.php, right? One for each cacti installation.
You only should be editing config.php.
