fusion io cards with cacti
I'm looking to deploy a brand new cacti instance and considering adding in some fusion io cards to help improve performance. I'll have two HP DL380 servers - one for the poller spine and rrd's and web service and a second backend machine dedicated to the mysql db. Figure I will add in one flash card in each server. Any recomendations on which card to use? I was thinking about the 160 GB SLC iodrive in the poller server and the 320 GB SLC iodrive for the db server. Has anyone else had good success getting speed improvements with these devices specifically for cacti? Any other comments regarding fio and cacti? Thanks, Ben

Re: fusion io cards with cacti
That's surely a good move, performance wise.
Last time we discussed these issues, I heard, that at least the "small" cards are not recommended (I suppose that were the 80 GB cards). But that's some time ago.
Regarding the sizes, I'd expect that the rrd store will be bigger than the mysql.
