What version of Cacti?

If you are using 0.8.6+, you should be running poller.php and editing the poller in Settings -> Poller -> Poller Type

What version of PHP are you running? If it is 4.3.10 or 5.0.3, please downgrade 1 version.

Need 1 additional piece of information. Cacti 0.8.6b w/o patches had a crashing problem. What version of Cacti are you running?
