Modifying baseline algorithm or scaling baseline %.

Hey guys,

Is there a way to use the TREND or PREDICT operations of rrd to generate a more complex baseline for alerting? I'm not sure if I'm posing the question correctly so here is what I want to do:

1) Scale the baseline threshold value based on the current traffic value.
a) @ 100 bit/s baseline I want it to alert me if the threshold is 1000% the value of baseline.
b) @ 10Mbit/s baseline I want it to alert me if the threshold is 20% higher.
c) and so forth with some fitted function... Whether this function is linear or exponential would depend on the case, but the usefulness, I think, is apparent.

The idea is that bandwidth spikes are only interesting depending on the amount of traffic involved.

Is this possible right now or would it require me digging in to the code and adjusting/adding a new baseline algo?
