Cacti calls scripts with n output values n times ...normal ?

Post by lartis »

Hi guys,

i have some command scripts (python etc) that output multiple values. Now after reviewing some logs, i saw that cacti calls my script apparently once for every output value it wants to gather. Is this standard? Because the script is not the fastest, its a problem for me. If this is standard behavior i'd have to cache the values or something.

Thank you very much!

Damn sorry, I figured it out. For someone else who might have this 'problem', here's my note to self:

Hey, Idiot!! Don't think you have something figured out when you haven't.
You created a data source for EVERY single output value. You have to create a DATA SOURCE ITEM in only ONE data source for every output value man.
