Hi, got a problem with dhcpd-snmp.
Everything works OK when i start dhcpd-snmp manually. But when i debug my snmpd it says following:

ucd-snmp/pass_persist: open_persist_pipe(2,'/usr/local/sbin/dhcpd-snmp /etc/dhcpd-snmp.conf')
ucd-snmp/pass_persist: open_persist_pipe: PONG not received!

I would like to bump this. I am attempting to set this up as well, and am getting the same error. Should that just be pass, not pass_persist? snmpwalk does not work even with it as pass. Thanks for any help with this.

Hello. I have a problem with running dhcp-snmp.

dhcpd-snmp /usr/local/etc/dhcpd-snmp.conf
defined(%hash) is deprecated at /usr/local/sbin/dhcpd-snmp line 224.
(Maybe you should just omit the defined()?)

i'm not understanding how to edit the script to work with my DHCP server, help anybody??

i am also doing this on a live box or i would mess with it more, i just don't want to do something wrong and crash the box, we have about 700 customers running from it.

ok i just want to monitor dhcpd leases, what are in use, and how many there are total this way we can add more address space if need be.

we are also using vyatta 6.2 on our dhcp servers if that helps.

i take that back, we are not using vyatta, we are using ubuntu, here is the readout from first logging into the servers

Linux serv0-XXXX 2.6.32-28-generic-pae #55-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jan 10 22:34:08 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux
Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS

and yes, we are using dhcp3-server.

if those are monitoring free, available, and used addresses, yes...those templates would help a lot if you would be able to post them.

I have some problems...
I can't execute your compiled dhcp-pools, on my PC, maybe you can give source code, to I recompile it for my box.

In your Instalation guide find one mistake.

sudo chown dhcpd /srv/scripts/dhcp-pools

must be

sudo chown dhcpd /srv/scripts/dhcpd-pools
