PPP connections

Post by aviano61 »

Hi!

I'm trying to monitoring PPP interface with Cacti. But when PPP session was re-established, it got a different ifIndex number and Cacti graph for this interface broken. How I can get persistent interface index for PPP connection ??

Though I'm not sure about it,
how about using PPP interface name (or something else which is persistent) as index instead of interface number (like this query)?

e.g.

Code: Select all

<index_order>ifDescr:ifName:ifHwAddr</index_order>
(Of course you have to define all the above fields in XML)

Also try to use 'Index Count Changed' for "Re-Index Method" (if needed).
