[SOLVED] Cacti 0.8.7i mysql database on remote machine

Post by levi »

Hi guys,
I am planning to migrate my current cacti 0.8.7g to 0.8.7.i but i wanted to make some tests in testbed before actual upgrade.
I've installed new centos 6.2 on virtual machine and followed install guides from here and it worked just fine.
After I've tried to move database to other virtual machine, like it is in my production server and here I've got troubles :-( it is showing:

Code: Select all

FATAL: Cannot connect to MySQL server on '10.5.2.44'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'
And at the same time (witn same config file) the "php cli/analyze_database.php" shows:

Code: Select all

[root@nss-www cacti]# php cli/analyze_database.php

Thank You.

Error was displayed in web browser when i was trying to open the cacti in testbed (version 0.8.7i) immediately after changing address of mysql server pointing to the remote host.

Thank You.

No, you're not. This is used quite seldom. But there are no known limitations/problems; at least to my knowledge. And I'm still confused why cli works and online doesn't. Both are using the same config file.
And this is no "distro" code? 087i code was downloaded from cacti.net?
