Trouble inatalling Weathermap plugin

I am getting errors installing weathermap plugin. I can create maps and they are in the list but I can;t activate them.

I have the same problem as below:

01/05/2012 01:00:02 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Assoc Failed!, Error:'1146', SQL:"select m.*, g.name as groupname from weathermap_maps m,weathermap_groups g where m.group_id=g.id and active='on' order by sortorder,id"
01/05/2012 01:00:02 PM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] WARNING: No activated maps found. [WMPOLL05]
01/05/2012 01:00:02 PM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] STATS: Weathermap 0.97a run complete - Thu, 05 Jan 12 13:00:02 +0000: 0 maps were run in 0 seconds with 0 warnings.

I have tried a number of things but did not work

I am using the cacti version with builtin plugin support.

Any Idea?

There isn't a cacti version with builtin plugin support, as far as I know.

If you look in the database, do the weathermap_maps and weathermap_groups tables exist?
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

On the downloads page, there is a version of 0.8.7i that is pre-patched with the Plugin Architecture.

I have the same problem. So far I hear this is related to tables not existing, because setup.php did not create them. Where is the database that's supposed to have these tables? How do I create them?

It's the cacti database. You can try copying the SQL CREATE statements out of setup.php...
it would be useful to know what the actual error is, if anything.

It may be as simple as change the TYPE=MyISAM to read ENGINE=MyISAM, actually. I know some newer versions have dropped support for the older syntax. This is already changed in svn.

Should I wait for a 0.98 release, or dig in to troubleshooting this? The errors appear to all be of the flavor:
CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Assoc Failed!, Error:'1146',

That's just Cacti's generic 'the query failed' message.

It would be useful to try pasting one of those CREATE TABLE commands into mysql, and see what the real error is.

0.98 is still going to be a while - my spare time is being taken up with real life at the moment.

0.98 is in svn? I don't see it, maybe I don't know what I'm looking for. I'd like to try that before I dive down this rabbit hole

Do I need a mySQL viewer or something? It's been a while since I've messed with SQL. So I have 2 questions, where is the cacti sql database, and how do I run commands against it? I'm familiar with the syntax of SQL, just forgot how to interface with it.

(Sorry this is going to sound ruder than intended)... I don't have spare time to go into a lot of detail. You'd use phpMyAdmin usually - I suggest grabbing a LAMP tutorial which covers the basics of accessing mysql databases.

Point me in the direction of the cacti database and I'll get out of your hair

It's the database you created when you installed Cacti. The details will be in include/config.php

I'm seeing the same problem on my staging-server which I recently installed with 0.8.7i.

I'll have a look to see if I can manually add the necessary tables, although.. I foresee a challenge
