THold scheduling

Post by jazzplr »

Is there a way to pause THold on a scheduled per device basis? For example, when backups run on one PC in the middle of the night there are some services that are taken down and then brought back up. I've adjusted the breach duration to allow for 10 minutes as opposed to 5 minutes which will bandage that problem but I'd rather have the five minute duration for abnormal outages. When we were on Nagios we couldn't do a calendar scheduling of downtime but we could schedule downtime manually.

maint (Maintenance Scheduler) plugin worked for me.

Some screenshots (current SVN 2032 / v0.3?):
Image
When performed "Update Time (Now + 1 Hour)", scheduled period is reconfigured immediately.

Image
Schedule Type: "One Time" or "Reoccurring"
Interval: "Every Day" or "Every Week"

With the above maintenance period (15:40-15:45), I've received alerting mails from thold plugin at the following time.
- 15:35 sent
- 15:40 not sent
- 15:45 sent

That's awesome plugin. :)

Wow thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for! I should have expanded my search terms to maintenance instead of schedule...

Please excuse my ignorance, but how do I install this? I'm used to seeing .xml files that get imported. Any documentation would be helpful.

1. Download all files in the trunk/ directory or get copy of them by using Subversion (or similar tool) from here:
svn://svn.cacti.net/cacti_plugins/maint/trunk

2. Place these files in cacti/plugins/maint/

3. Install/Enable "Maint" at 'Plugin Management' like as the other plugins

Scheduling on a Per-Template basis

Post by themadcanudist »

Hey guys,

Is there any plans to implement the maintenance plugin to work on a per-template thold basis? I only want to disable certain types of templated thresholds and not all thold alerts attached to a device. Thanks!

Is there a specific version of cacti/thold/pia that is needed for maint to properly work? I'm currently running Cacti 0.8.7d, thold 0.4.1, and PIA 2.4. I'd like to avoid updating these if possible.

Maint is pretty much not going to work unless you update all of those. With 0.8.7d having been released over 3 years ago, I would hazard to guess that any new plugin may have issues with something that old.
