Hey,
Can i read (and graph/manage) a value directly from a database?
I'm trying to combine cacti and linuxmce.
Linuxmce is handling my whole home automation system (lighting, power outlets...). So it would be great if i can monitor all these things with cacti. I'm thinking about lights that are on/off, power outlet... It would be great if we could place this in a graph, through the plugins manage/weathermaps...
Since all these values are stored in the database of linuxmce, i was thinking of extracting them with cacti(templates)...

Re: Read value out of database
Sure.
You'll need to create a script to connect to the database, extract the data, and then feed it back to Cacti. The documentation site has samples.
