All Plugins are broken after upgrading to Cacti8.7i PIA3.1

Post by mhendr23 »

I recently installed the latest version of CactiEZ onto a server at work. Installation was a breeze, and Cacti and the plugins worked perfectly right out of the box. However, this was came with Cacti 8.7c, and all of the plugins were antiquated as well. The next day, I decided to go ahead and update to the latest version of cacti (8.7i), and to update the plugins as well. Cacti successfully updated to 8.7i with no problems or data loss, however, none of the plugins work any more. If I select either Thold(.4) or Weathermap(.97a) tab, I am taken to a page with broken images.

If I try and click on a link from this page with the broken images, I get a 404 page not found error. I noticed that when clicking the Weathermap tab, the url had repeated a portion of the directory, "http://192.168.4.129/plugins/weathermap/plugins/weathermap/weathermap-cacti-plugin.php.
Also, on the Thold tab, in addition to the duplicate directory issue just mentioned, the page also displays the message "You are missing a dependency for thold, please install the 'Settings' plugin", even though I already have Settings.71 installed.

I have tried swapping out various versions of the Weathermap and Thold plugins, but with no difference. Since this issue is affecting all the plugins, I thought it might be the PIA. Because PIA 3.1 is said to be integrated into this version of Cacti 8.7i, I was unsure as to how I might try reverting to an older version of the plugin architecture.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if I need to supply more info please let me know. Also, if there are directions on how to appropriatly create form posts here, please leave a link for me.

Thanks,
Matt

Plugins: Aggregate 0.75, Settings0.71, Boost5.1, Weathermap0.97a, Thold0.4
Plugin Architecture: version 3.1
Cacti: 8.7i

This looks very much like a missing edit in include/config.php.
PIA still requires, that the relative path/to/cacti/ must be entered there.
Please verify

The page not found are generally permission issues. Make sure at least that apache can read the files.

Editing the config file to add weathermap only fixed the one problem only to issues for the rest of Cacti. I finally performed a fresh install of Cacti and updated it as well as all plugins again. This time everything worked flawlessly, unfortunately I lost all previous data after wiping out the system. I surmise that I had permission issues and some configuration problems as well.

Thank you all for your advice and response to my question.

In case you have a mysqldump and the rrd files still present, it would be possible to restore them into that cacti db
