System Utilities says wrong RRDTool and Graphs dont show up

Post by jhermiz1978 »

My graphs are just showing broken image links. I have just installed cacti version 0.8.7i for windows XP.
Running RRDTools 1.4.5

I went to the system utilities link in cacti and selected "Technical Support" everything appears to be good except the section that says RRDToolVersion:
"Error: Installed RRDTool version does not match configured version. Please visit the configuration settings and select the correct RRDTool Utility Version."
So I went to the configuration settings and the RRDTool utility version is set to RRDTool 1.4.x

I also checked the "Paths" tab in the configuration settings and everything looks good there, the only one that seems odd is the RRDTool Default Font.
Mine is set to C:/Windows/Fonts/ARIAL.TTF and under it in green it says "NO FONT VERIFICATION POSSIBLE".
Other then that the paths look ok.

Could my graph images not be showing up because of this RRDTool error message? I just installed Cacti, so do I need to give it a day to actually graph?
Please any help is appreciated. I even turned GRAPH DEBUG MODE ON and it shows this
RRDTool Command:

C:/rrdtool/rrdtool.exe graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \
--title="TKKAH-IIS-1 web server serving internal applications - CPU Usage" \
--rigid \
--base=1000 \
--height=120 \
--width=500 \
--alt-autoscale-max \
--lower-limit=0 \
--vertical-label="percent" \
--slope-mode \
--font TITLE:10: \
--font AXIS:7: \
--font LEGEND:8: \
--font UNIT:7: \
DEF:a="C\:/Inetpub/wwwroot/cacti/rra/3/10.rrd":5min_cpu:AVERAGE \
AREA:a#FF0000FF:"CPU Usage" \
GPRINT:a:LAST:"Current\:%8.0lf" \
GPRINT:a:AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.0lf" \
GPRINT:a:MAX:"Maximum\:%8.0lf\n" RRDTool Says:
But their doesnt seem to be any issues here even....

PS: I also checked the log file under "System Utilities" for "View Cacti Log File" it shows this:

Depending on your Linux variant, there are either one or two PHP.INI files that need updating. Generally they are in /etc/php5. You have to set the 'date.timezone' variable starting with PHP5.3.

Once you do so, you need to restart Apache.

Where did you get rrdtool 1.4.5 from?
If you run rrdtool.exe at the command prompt, do you get any errors?

double-posting won't get you help any faster. moving to the correct forum.

rrdtool output means all the dependencies are present. No errors in the windows application log?

Double-check NTFS permissions on c:\rrdtool\ folder and rrdtool.exe. does the IIS_USR account have read/execute?

Is the IIS_USR a user on the local machine? The only users I see on the local machine is Administrator, ASPNET, Guest, HelpAssistant, IUSR_ComputerName, IWAM_ComputerName, SUPPORT, and USER

I added IUSR_COMPUTERNAME to the rrdtool directory gave read write access and still no graphs. Just broken image link...

Alright back to the basics.
1) Enable graph debugging and paste a screenshot of what is displayed?
2) Is the cacti poller running every 5 minutes?
3) any errors in your cacti.log?

Yes the cacti poller is running every 5 minutes, here is a screen shot from the PC running cacti scheduled tasks:

This is the reason for the broken graph you just posted.

Are there any OTHER graphs which are broken?

Even the graphs for the local machine (the machine serving cacti itself) I created graphs for that but they are broken images.

What is the reason for this error and how do I fix it? I have installed SNMP on the remote server (server I am trying to graph).

Post a screenshot of a different graph with debugging enabled which isn't working.

If you take the rrdtool graph command and manually run it on the commandline, does it work?

Here is another screen shot

How would I run it from the command line?

From the Command line i did this:

Image

C:\rrdtool>rrdtool create target.rrd --start 1023654125 --step 300 DS:mem:GAUGE:
600:0:671744 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:12:24 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:288:31

And I can see the file target.rrd sitting in the c:\rrdtool directory..just not sure on how to open and view the graph.
