Unterminated <> operator at /home/cacti/cmd.php line 1

Post by studentcare »

I have just installed Cacti Version 0.8.7h onto Mandriva Linux 2010.2.

All is working well except that I get the following error trying to run cmd.php, either from Cron or the command line. I am assuming this is a PERL issue as the php file looks fine.

Unterminated <> operator at /home/cacti/cmd.php line 1

Has anyone else had this issue?

Any guidance that can be offered would be much appreciated.

Thanks, have changed my CRON command to use PHP not perl and now it seems to run OK except that now I am getting the following

<br><strong>This script is only meant to run at the command line.</strong>

I do not get this when I run >PHP cmd.php manually from a shell.

Again any help would be appreciated.

It seems, that you did not yet follow the installation instructions, especially for crontab, see http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:1_inst ... gure_cacti
