BGP Data Query, very easy to use

Adverised prefixes OID is showing exactly what its ment to show by the way. But I don't think it will do the trick. Here is what CISCO says about it:
"This counter is incremented when a route prefix,
which belongs to an address family is advertised
on this connection. It is initialized to zero when
the connection is undergone a hard reset."

That's interesting. We don't use the Admin limit. I didn't even know it could be configured like that. I walked my router with the OID's you specified and got the expected results.

Everything I got from my provider shows being advertised out to my neighbors.

I think I understand what you are saying but I'm not sure. Basically though, if the connection undergoes a hard reset the graph would go to zero. But what will happen is that when you start advertising again it will go back up. The number you see is a gauge meaning it goes up and down with what it sees. If that makes sense. Or else I'm confused

Sorry, all, I haven't been on here in a while. Just realized there are updates. I will try and review everything, make sure it still works on my 2851, and repost. I do full tables on the 2851, but I guess there are just some differences.

I'm using cacti 0.8.7e and can't see any graph for BGP. From "Data Query Debug" there is a lot of output (connecting to Cisco 7200), so snmpwalk and xml templates should be fine. I tried import templates from first post, also "generic" templates.
Is there anything else I should do?

Developers of this template and others, I want to provide some feedback:
-this template is great! We've been wanting to track BGP prefixes for years and now we can. Thanks very much for the time spent on this

-Using the templates posted by "lard" on Thu Mar 10, 2011, the install worked perfectly; no changes from me. We're running 0.8.7g on linux against Cisco 6500's with either Sup720-3B or Sup32 and IOS 12.2(33)SXI3

Mine has another issue....

I get for example an rrd file called 483.rrd

I do a rrdtool info on it and see:

last_update = 1322838081
ds[received].last_ds = "66688"
ds[sent].last_ds = "68229"
ds[prefixes].last_ds = "U" (this is normal, I am using quagga + the default BGP MIB, not the Cisco one)

and then......
the graph shows:
58.99
and
59.99
for the current field.

I have no idea how it calculates "Current" like that although the RRD has the correct values and the graph debug shows the Last field as the input for Current.

Also I'd like to see the actual value and no rounding to 58.99/59.99 and so on.
I've googled a bit before but my skills seemed to be quite poor as I didn't find a way to display the actual real value.

Can you help me out ?
Maybe other values end up in the graph...although the templates and DS associations seem ok.

I have installed a template on 4 page
My graph show wrong datas(bgpmsgsent/receive),withdrawn.
Seems like cacti subtracts current datas and the datas received 5 minutes ago.Snmpwalk show 1000,1100,1150 on my graph I monitoring 100,50 respectively.Cdef function make per 5 minutes selected if i set to none i get 0 current values.

Maybe I'll take a crack at it but thought I might ask first: anyone updated this to use 32-bit AS numbers?
