No data returned for *correct* OID

I'm also attempting to view free/available memory from an HP-UX 11i server onto the Cacti server (running Fedora Linux).

I have the correct OID:

.1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.1.7.0

This is free/available memory for that OID. I confirmed this via "snmpwalk". However... nothing is returned nor graphed. I've created all the proper entries using the "SNMP - Generic OID Template" option, which is using "SNMP - Get Data" data entry method.

What am I doing wrong?

There was a posting about how you *need* to compile PHP *WITH* SNMP support....grrrrrr......

Here are my "configure" options:

I'll try this and get back to 'da group about "no SNMP support" for generic OID specifications. Looks like is another "undocumented feature" of Cacti (OK -- DO NOT go into specifics that this is *publicly* known -- for someone who doesn't use SNMP that much, how 'da Heck would I've known that I *need* to have SNMP compiled into PHP?????)

I will confirm that this isn't a small 'gotcha' or RTFM within the documentation that states that SNMP-support *IS* required.

For Linux, it is. :(((

Did this solution for you? I have three HPUX 11.11 boxes I am wanting to monitor. I have no problems monitoring all my Redhat boxes, but the only info I can get from the HP boxes are interface stats.

I get memory statistics from a HP-UX box using the .1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.1.7.0 OID and the SNMP Generic OID data template.
I haven't had to configure anything on the HP-UX side.

Here is what I get using the above OID:
snmpwalk -m all -v2c hptest (community_name) .1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.1.7.0
enterprises.11.2.3.1.1.7.0 = No Such Object available on this agent


Am I doing something wrong?

Rob,

You need to ensure that the snmp daemon on your HPUX server has that MIB installed on it. Check the documentation of the snmp daemon for instructions on how to do so.
