SNMP error on gateway nic in HP cluster

Post by irlfox12 »

I am trying to create a network traffic graph for the external NIC on my gateway node for an HP cluster with 3 master nodes (primary, gateway, and storage server nodes). I have been able to create the cacti graph for the primary node (tier3-atlas1), but not my gateway node (tier3-atlas2). I have checked with snmpwalk to see if snmp is working correctly for that node and there appears to be no problem there. Also, when I look at devices I have created, the device on which I am working is listed with an unknown status. When I look at the device under the graph management section and turn on the graph debug mode, it tell me the rrd file is not created. How do I get the .rrd file to be created? Is there some way I can make the snmp data get picked up by cacti for this external NIC device? (I have a graph for the internal network for atlas2, so I feel I should get the external to work.)

I have been following the cacti manual for creating a network graph, but can not seem to get this to work. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

The information you provided is not sufficient to make a definitive response. You need to generally follow the second link on my signature.

In general, you have to created graphs, the host needs to respond properly to certain data, and the poller cache much contain entries for the host to be polled.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
