when someone starts with cacti, is difficult for him to understand the steps.
why not a beginners place up where we have CONSOLE and GRAPH, in witch after you compile a page you have a next page button who takes you to that step and even ask you some info to understand what the user want to add.. etc
ex.
first page -Devices (when you click the next button it takes you to)
second page - Data Query (when you click the next button it takes you to)
third page - Graph Management (finish)
you got the point.

Re: Beginers Page
This sounds like a "wizard" type of approach. The idea in interesting. But to be honest, I like to make people read the quite elaborated documentation along with all those walkthroughs included into it.
From the learning perspective, I prefer that.
But this is my personal opinion

Re: Beginers Page
I agree with Gandalf. It's important as we don't do this full time. Even though Cacti is free, there is a price for admission. That price is simply that you must affirm that you are technical, that you embrace and understand the technology to the point that you are unafraid of something as powerful as Cacti IS.
We prefer those who seek to understand, be it through books, or trial and error and that most importantly contribute back to the community however they can.

True understanding begins only when we realize how little we truly understand...
