solved - thold has negative value on interface

Post by zakki »

Hi,

I am using told 0.4.7 on cacti 0.8.7h. I created threshold base on High/Low values for an interface. I learned that the value of interface throughput is in Bps. I set it up and then i saw the threshold is breached even though I believe it shouldn't be.
After checking out i found out thold has negative value for the interface throughput. For example if the actual throughput is 320,201 Bps, tholds sees it as -320,201 Bps.

Screenshot attached.

How to fix this?

SOLVED.

The solution is in the same page . In the Data Manipulation -> Data Type I use RPN Expression with the following value:

ABS(|ds:traffic_in|)

Did this happen after an interface reset? Please advise. I'm wondering if the Spike detection logic incorporated in the latest thold has a defect.
