I did a search but could not find a proper answer... I've got a couple of ethernet interfaces that I am monitoring and I'd like to get alerted when the bandwidth usage goes over 8mbps and below 5mbps. The current value for the interface says 705015.1
I've got the high set to 800000 and the low set to 500000, but it doesn't seem to trigger. Any ideas?
How to set the high/low threshold values?

Re: How to set the high/low threshold values?
500000 < 705015.1 < 800000
It seems current value is not abnormal in your criteria...
BTW, if you select 'Exact Value'(default) for Data Type in threshold settings, then '705015.1' is in bytes (not bits).
(705015.1 * 8 / 1000000 = 5.64 mbits)

noname, just curious why you divided by 10000000?

(I corrected '10000000' to '1000000' in your post)in2deep wrote:noname, just curious why you divided by 1000000?
Just to convert from bits to mbits.
Re: How to set the high/low threshold values?
Thanks for the feedback guys. I seem to have gotten one of the thresholds to "trigger" but it won't email me.
I've sent several test emails from cacti and they all go through. What would be the problem?

Re: How to set the high/low threshold values?
To resolve the same issue at my pc, i first make sure that the HIGH threshold value was set higher than the LOW threshold value. That's important.
