Having some trouble setting up Cacti

I've been trying to set up Cacti for several days the regular way, first on server 2008 then on vista. I gave up and went for the exe installer. now cacti works but I set up the graphs and they're empty (after 24 hours).

Also, I'm trying to add a Syslog plugin (I checked the syslog plugin tick on the exe installer and it doesn't work), but I don't know how.

I've set the installer to Apache2.

Can you tell me what do I need to check?

Well, the best way is to use the installer. To use the syslog plugin, you have to have a linux server somewhere to receive and store the syslog data, or a linux server receiving the data and forwarding to a Windows box. So, you still have a long way to go. You would save yourself a lot of trouble by just doing Linux.

I may just install Linux. but in the meanwhile, I'm stuck with windows.

have anything about the empty graphs? something that I should check?

This is with the installer.
as I sad in the first post. without the installer it didn't work at all.

NOW... I've found something new. trying to run the scheduled task from the command line, I get a series of errors.
I printscreened the first 3.

Looks like you php is not installed correctly.

The installer doesn't use WAMP, so it appears you're trying to install over existing components which isn't going to work out well... as you've found out. If you you're going to use the installer, then remove wamp, php, mysql, and apache.

Looking at these errors I think that PHP is somehow defined to the apache installed earlier by the wamp server, though before I used the installer I removed it.

anyone knows how should I define it so that the poller will work? thoughts anyone?

edit: I did not noticed I had already 2 replies. but as you said, I did remove wamp before I started the installer.
: well anyway, I'll try reinstalling everything again. I'll let you know how it goes.
