[help]terget device remains - 'unknown' status

Hello.
I have a problem about target device status.
most results of icmp ping are ok 'up' but some of servers are remain with 'unknown'.
I don't understand why they are.

I did the ping test from cacti server to target servers manualy.
And then I get the reply successfully.

I can't find cause and solution.
Please help me.

Cacti Version : 0.8.7g
Cacti Server OS : RHEL 5.2
Poller : cmd.php
PHP Version 5.1.6

When using the cmd.php poller, you must have a graph before availability will trigger. If you don't want to have graphs, use the spine poller (which you have to compile and install).

sure, i set making graphs.
but as i said, some target servers is 'unknown' status in monitor tab and then graphs are not shown.
I want to know why status is unknown and how i can fix it.

So you even have graphs defined for the host that shows up as "unknown"?
In this case, I suspect an issue with "downed host detection". Please see 2nd link of my sig for debugging
