Multi-alerting

Post by combellm »

Hi cacti community!

I'm currently working on the alerting project of my company.
I was searching for a solution to add a general alert that check every equipment's CPU use and tell me if one of thoses exceed something like 80%.
i know i can add an alert for every equipment but we have hundreds of switch or other stuffs so it should have something more efficient!

Can i find a full manual somewhere? Can we do this?

Thanks for your help! I'm new with cacti and it's a lot to learn so others knowledge is really valuable.

PS:Sorry for my English, i'm French... si I speak what I call Frenglish ;)

First create a Threshold Template, then you can do either to the Graph Management interface or the Data Source interface and create all the thresholds in one fell swoop. You select all the Graphs/Data Sources and then select 'Create Threshold from Template' QED.

DONE!

In the Data source management i only have the following options:
delete
change data template
change host
duplicate
convert to data template
enable
disable

And in the Graph management part i have:
delete
change graph template
change host
reapply suggested names
resize graphs
duplicate
convert to graph template
enable
disable
place on tree(...)

That's my problem I don't have the right option!
But maybe the fact that i use the version 0.8.7b of cacti and the version 0.3.9 for Thold is why i don't have it...
If you have any idea about how I can do without upgrading (not possible to upgrade because the server is managing by another service.

Thanks for the help!

You desperately need a Thold upgrade. You are running a 'very' old release.
