Problem on Graphing Mikrotik Simple Queues
Hello,
I wonder if you could help me on this one...
I am using a Mikrotik Router as Hotspot with AAA/Radius.
The Mikrotik Hotspot creates dynamically simple queues for the logged in users.
Those users are returning users, they are always using the same username and log ou and log multiple times a day.
As they are contracted customers, I'd like to graph them and supply the graph on a User-Portal.
Mikrotik Queue graphing is principally working, I found a Templete to graph Mikrotik Simple Queues, the Graphing in prinicpally working.
Unfortunately, the Queues on the Mikrotik are dynamic which means once a User logs out, the Queue will be deleted. A new Queue (with the same name but a new OID) will be created once the User logs in again.
You might see the problem already, as the same Username has now a new OID, the 'old graph will not show anything anymore.
Worse - existing graphs will stop working as a update/reload of the discovery for the Mikrotik Queue Dataquery on the Host will now delete the values for the non-existing queues
Cacti doesn't seem to work properly with dynamically created queues- once I reload a Dataquery, it will generate graphs for the the actual active entries, the others (not logged in - therefore no queue) users will be destroyed.
Can you help on graphing dynamically created simple queues with cacti or do you have any diea how to graph those dynamic Queues?
Thanks,
Heiko

Re: Problem on Graphing Mikrotik Simple Queues
This is tricky and should be done using a Cacti Plugin. This is my advice. Plugins can be both simple and elegant, or complex and crazy. I write lot's of them.

Re: Problem on Graphing Mikrotik Simple Queues
Did you solve the issue with cacti & mikrotik’s dynamic simple queues?
