You need to run boost, and then properly answer the previous question.

Dear Cacti team,

After a fresh Cacti install on a Fedora 15 PC everything is working fine. But when I installed the weathermap plugin, I am "able" to start the editor and create a map.
The file is saved, but under the weathermap tab, I get the following message ; " This map hasn't been created yet. "

In the logfile I can see the following error message;

10/19/2011 04:10:57 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: A DB Exec Failed!, Error:'1100', SQL:"INSERT INTO plugin_realms (plugin, file, display) VALUES ('weathermap', 'weathermap-cacti-plugin-mgmt.php', 'Plugin -> Weathermap: Configure/Manage')'
10/19/2011 04:10:57 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: A DB Exec Failed!, Error:'1100', SQL:"INSERT INTO plugin_realms (plugin, file, display) VALUES ('weathermap', 'weathermap-cacti-plugin.php', 'Plugin -> Weathermap: View')'
10/19/2011 04:10:57 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Assoc Failed!, Error:'1100', SQL:"SELECT 1 AS id, ph.name, ph.file, ph.function FROM plugin_hooks AS ph LEFT JOIN plugin_config AS pc ON pc.directory=ph.name WHERE ph.status = 1 AND hook = 'config_arrays' AND ph.name IN ('settings', 'boost', 'dsstats') UNION SELECT pc.id, ph.name, ph.file, ph.function FROM plugin_hooks AS ph LEFT JOIN plugin_config AS pc ON pc.directory=ph.name WHERE ph.status = 1 AND hook = 'config_arrays' AND ph.name NOT IN ('settings', 'boost', 'dsstats') ORDER BY id ASC"

Can anyone tell me what I am overseeing to solve this issue?
I've attached the Technical Support .

Thanks in advance

Make sure that your grants include locking. The documentation states that you must

Code: Select all

grant ALL on cacti.* ...
If you have been conservative with the grants, that might have something to do with it. The 1100 error means that you could not get the lock on the table. I'm thinking that it's either grants of a MySQL bug. I've never experienced this myself.

It's been reported three times now. All of the reporters were running MySQL 5.1.4x-5.1.5x.

Let us know what fixed it for you.

Thanks you for the very quick update.

What a fool I've been to have overseen that bit

The strange thing is that I've done it, but I've got the message "Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)"

Still I am not able the put weathermaps on my console, but no error's in the logfile anymore.
I am now looking into user and group settings on the file system it self.

I will let you know the outcome.

Thanks for helping me

I have been running Cacti installed from a tar file from for a year or so...but have not done an upgrade before.

I see my version reported in the upper-right side after logging into Cacti shows 0.8.7g

I went here:
http://cacti.net/download_patches.php?version=0.8.7g

Got SSH, switched to /var/www/cacti

Copied and pasted the wget and patch commands as shown and they all seemed to run with no errors in the output.

I logged out of Cacti web GUI and logged back in...and the version number did not change. Is it normal to leave your version displayed unchanged even after patches are applied?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide and for this excellent software.

I failed to add that I am running Cacti from source installation files (not the Debian packages) on Debian 5 . I thought I had upgraded my Cacti before and the version number changed that is shown in the GUI.

So after my last post...I downloaded the http://www.cacti.net/downloads/pia/cact ... 3.0.tar.gz as my goal was to install the nectar plugin.

I copied the patch file and the "files" folder (with all subdirectories) to my /var/www/cacti folder. When I ran the patch command as given in the README some patches ran without complaint...others did report problems. So, just to be on the safer side I rolled back my entire Cacti server to a VMware snapshot I made before downloading and running the patches.

So I will wait to see if anyone has any feedback before I try it again.

Thanks.

I choose to use the 'full files' for PIA install. Debian will always fail on the patch as they do things quite differently.

Thanks...so to go from 0.8.7g of cacti to 0.8.7h of cacti...should the version number change in the Cacti admin GUI?

Can you tell me where to find the "full files" files and instructions for PIA?

The only PIA downloads I can find are here:
http://www.cacti.net/downloads/pia/

Thanks in advance.

Just overwrite your Cacti files with the full files. Please compare your config.php to the config.php.dist though and pickup the differences.
