I use V2 - Until recently i have problem with the cacti version - 0.87h - my tx power doesnt work since and wont go back to older versions.

However, the Linecard works well.

Its hard to extract those idirect mib file and interpret them, so i made work easier for you...

With this you will not struggle much - if you know how to.

Place it in the resources/snmp_queries folder and call it using data query. Better still extract and create a separate .xml file for each of the queries you may intend to make.

EG , temp, snr, rx, tx , power, etc etc.

Nice work Thuo - cant wait to get back to the office and try it out :).

I fiddled with most of these values -- pretty much the only ones worth monitoring are the ones we have down already.

First, try to see if you get anything here;

snmpwalk -c public -v 1 -On ip-address .1.3.6.1.4.1.13732.1.4.3.1.3

XML below;

TX POWER:

<interface>
<name>REMOTE TX Power</name>

<description>Remote sites tx power</description>
<index_order_type>numeric</index_order_type>
<oid_index>.1.3.6.1.4.1.13732.1.4.1.1.1</oid_index>

<fields>

<nmname>
<name>Index</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>input</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.13732.1.1.1.1.7</oid>
</nmname>

<nmdid>
<name>Index</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>input</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.13732.1.4.1.1.1</oid>
</nmdid>

<txpower>

<direction>output</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.13732.1.4.3.1.3</oid>
</txpower>
</fields>
</interface>

Like i stated earlier - i have some issues with this newer version of cacti (more so with RRDTOOL).

Hi Team,

I will appreciate if someone can make a nice documentation of how to plot iDirect graphs. It should show step by step after cacti installation. This will resolve the doubts as it is making difficult to understand.

Sorry, but this is a custom template. So the author or an interested reader with access to such devices is in charge ...
But in most cases, it should be enough to study 1st link of my sig. All generic descriptions are in

Hi Hany,

Just checking you have access to the NMS? as you cannot pull any SNMP data off the modems directly...only through the NMS.

The CDEF that Thuo detailed above is the correct one to use to aggregate the traffic types or you can stack it like I did.
