Cannot start cacti on my browser

Post by martais »

I have installed the following on a Windows 2000 Server:

- Apache
- PHP
- MySQL
- cacti

I have followed all the instructions under C:\Apache\Apache\htdocs\cacti\docs\INSTALL.htm.

When I point my web browser to http://<my_host>/cacti the page cannot be displayed.
However, http://<my_host> shows that Apache server is running.

Have anyone an idea?

Regards

Marta

You made some mistake in the installation. You should try running "php -v" from the command line and "php -m" as well to determine how healthy PHP is first.

Hi to all,
i also hav a same problem with martais but when I point my web browser to http://<my_host>/cacti the page shows Index of /cacti and list of file inside cacti folder.

However, http://<my_host> shows that Apache server is running.

as u suggest for running php-v so i did like below:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
C:\php>php -v
PHP 4.3.9 (cgi-fcgi) (built: Sep 21 2004 14:04:26)
Copyright (c) 1997-2004 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v1.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2004 Zend Technologies

C:\php>

is that shows something?

Sounds like your Apache configuration does not currently recognize "index.php" as a valid start page. Please re-review you Cacti/Apache installation documentation.
