Re: Error SNMP
snmp errors are a sign the device isnt properly configured for snmp and/or a firewall is blocking snmp traffic.

Re: Error SNMP
Hello,
I am having similar issues. I keep getting snmp error when I try to add a device or I get this website cannot display page. My localhost however shows up and its graphing everything fine. We have another cacti server that is running properly and I have no problem connecting to the host server from the "working cacti". We only have windows boxes so all my data queries are win services. I have gone under snmp and added public as community and added the proper ip addresses under trap destinations and security. I have also turned off all the firewall to make sure. I do get icmp ping success. Any help will be much appreciated.
My system
windows 2003
latest cacti windows installer
no cygwin
fresh install

Re: Error SNMP
If someone can plz help me it will be highly appreciated. I am a complete Newbie and just trying to learn. I read as much as I could but so far no luck. Everything on my windows installer installation went fine expect spine couldnt find a file called cygz.dll. I just downloaded that from the net. I just can't connect to any of my server even with all the firewall off and proper ip added to snmp allowed list.
Re: Error SNMP
Stick with the cmd.php poller until you need spine's improvements.
use a snmp tool like getif or net-snmp to validate the snmp agent is properly configured on your troublesome windows box.

Re: Error SNMP
Thank you, for your response. I ran net-snmp and it said it was successful on agent and service. changed it to cmd.php instead of spine. Still no luck. I spoke to the vendor and having him reinstall os o nit. I got frustrated and installed it on another machine (win 2008 x64, windows installer) and snmp worked perfect with all the plugins and everything, the only problem I have on that is that for some reason win services data query is returning no information. I ran it in debug mode and below is what i got. To get the win services data queries, I exported the xml file from a working cacti that the office has (i got graph template, host template and data query win services).

Re: Error SNMP
That script isn't part of the normal install. You'll need to contact the script author for support.
You can also start part way into http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:4_help.2_debugging to troubleshoot.
