Multiple thresholds for one datasource

Post by exseven »

Is this possible? The wording on the baseline text makes it sound like it should work if i set high/low already but i cant confirm this.

What i am trying to do is create 4 thresholds on 1 interface graph. A High/Low for both incoming and outgoing as well as a baseline.

So if traffic spikes or drops 50% OR goes over 6Gb/s an alarm will be triggered.

the wording is "Baseline monitoring
When enabled, baseline monitoring checks the current data source value against a value in the past. The available range of values is retrieved and a minimum and maximum values are taken as a respective baseline reference. The precedence however is on the "hard" thresholds above." but i cant find anywhere to set the hard limits

Wording needs to be changed, for baselining and high/low are separate checks.

I would like to do something similar.

For example, I'd an e-mail when a host's CPU is at 60% utilisation, and, if it goes up to 80% utuilisation, I'd like another alert. The reason being that a 60% would make me aware of the server and put it on my "to do" check list, but an 80% make me look at it ASAP.

Thanks guys.

I implemented a "Warning" feature for a customer I'm currently doing some consulting for.

Where can it be downloaded ? I didn't find a svn source ...

I just added another feature requested: Maintenance windows where no alerts are being sent out ...

Oh interesting- I didn't know that maintain plugin existed. I saw it in the thold code but was wondering what it was.

In the end I have added a maintenance schedule to thold itself, but that maint plugin may be a better way of doing it.
